The Mission of LEGACY in association with Faulkner University is to Glorify God in all that we do, promote integrity and to create kingdom workers while emphasizing that each person, each soul matters. We strive to help build a faith that emboldens students to live out their faith beyond high school while connecting to the church God established.
OUR HISTORY:
IN PREVIOUS YEARS, TWO EVENTS WERE HELD AT FAULKNER UNIVERSITY: AIMCON AND INSPIRE. BOTH EVENTS WERE ORGANIZED AND PUT ON BY SEPARATE BOARDS OF YOUTH MINISTERS, HELD ANNUALLY ON THE CAMPUS OF FAULKNER UNIVERSITY. NOW, WORKING AS ONE UNIFIED BOARD AND PARTNERING WITH FAULKNER, LEGACY IS AIMING TO OFFER AN IMMERSIVE COLLEGE-INSPIRED EXPERIENCE THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE LEGACY OF JESUS AND HOW WE CAN LEAVE BEHIND A LEGACY THAT POINTS TO HIM.
INSPIRE YOUTH CONFERENCE
Inspire was a Faulkner University campus experience! Each Summer students would come and enjoy a week in the life of a Faulkner student. Students would join a social club with which they would participate in club sports, Jamboree (a student led show), club devotionals, and other activities throughout the week. They would spend time in God’s word each day while hearing from different keynote speakers and being part of interactive classes each day. Students would also enjoy meals in the cafeteria, free time to hang out in the multiplex and other spots on campus, all while meeting and making new friends for life!
AIMCON / S.E.C.
In 2004 Paul Spurlin and a few of his friends started SEC (Southern Evangelism Conference) at Decatur Highway church of Christ as a more southern version of Evangelism University that is held in Savannah, TN. In 2011 SEC moved onto the campus of Faulkner University and the board expanded. In 2014 the decision was made to change to name of the event to AIMCON. AIMCON then became the in-person conference that represented AIM or Adventures in Ministry. Adventures in Ministry, which is now The Ministry League, is still doing great work through their app and bringing Christians together through all types of Christian content. We hope to continue with Legacy bringing people together in the name of Christ.
